The warm and water-repellent down jacket KUPPONEN from REIMA made of a material based on coffee beans not only looks great, but also has exciting properties:
The quilted jacket is made from a heat-retaining fabric based on ground coffee. For the production, ground coffee is charred at very high temperatures and crushed into microscopic particles, which are characterized by a honeycomb structure. When these are processed into polyester, tiny holes are created in the fibers that trap heat. Combined with a filling of 60% down and 40% feathers, this new, shimmering, coffee bean-based material will keep kids nice and warm outside.
The material is also windproof, water-repellent and breathable. The hood can be easily unbuttoned and reflective elements ensure more visibility in the dark.
